Going Taller is an intensive master workshop designed for potters who want to confidently create larger-scale forms on the wheel.

Whether you’ve been struggling to gain height or you’re ready to refine your technique, this hands-on workshop will give you the practical skills and confidence to throw taller forms with greater consistency, control and efficiency.

During this workshop, you will explore:

Preparing clay for larger forms
Efficient centering techniques for increased volume
Pulling taller walls with greater confidence and control
Managing wall thickness and maintaining evenness
Maintaining stability and preventing collapse
Shaping and refinement tall cylinders and vessel forms
Practical tips for troubleshooting common challenges

Workshop details:

Duration: 4 hours
Experience: Intermediate to Advanced – Perfect for intermediate and advanced potters who already have a solid understanding of wheel throwing and are ready to challenge themselves by working at a larger scale.
Bring: An apron and towel
Wear: Comfortable clothing that can get dirty. Closed shoes are essential

Firing: Firing is not included as part of the workshop but can be arranged with Sarah on the day.
