FLATWARE WHEEL

CLASS OVERVIEW

The Flatware wheel class is suitable for students interested in learning how to make plates using the wheel.

Students in this workshop will learn how to create a variety of plates on the wheel and how to trim and glaze plates suited to their shape. 

Includes:

  • 1 bag of stoneware clay (additional clay can be purchased from $5 per kilo which includes firing and glazing)
  • Tools and stdio glazes
  • Firing of work

Duration: 4 x 2.5 hour classes.

Experience: Completion of (at least) an 8 week wheel course with Sarah Schembri (or equivalent) and confidence to centre clay. 

Wear: Clothes that can get dirty – this class is hands on. Closed shoes are essential.

Bring: Your own apron, towels and batts (if you have them – the studio has a limited supply). Feel free to bring any particular tools you wish to use.

Collection of work: Students will be emailed when their work is ready for collection (all work must be collected within 2 weeks).
