In this 2.5 hour hand building workshop, you’ll learn how to craft ceramic cups inspired by the Japanese carving technique Kurinuki. Learn the process of carving out from a block of clay, exploring organic/asymmetrical forms and texture. Perfect for beginners. No prior experience is needed. Teacher: Stella KyriakouIncludes:

Class Overview:
The Hand Building workshop is suited to anyone interested in creating functional items, specifically by hand.
Hand forming techniques will be demonstrated, including rolling out clay to create small plates, pinch pots, trays & spoons. A variety of stoneware clays are used while incorporating texture. All Items will be fired twice and are food safe.
At the end of class students may select 2 items each for their home. Work will be glazed in a colour of choice and fired (this process takes 2-3 weeks) Students will be emailed when their work is ready for collection).
