Beginner Wheel Class
The Beginner Wheel Pottery Course is an ideal opportunity for students to learn the basics on the wheel including learning to centre clay to create basic forms such as cylinders and small bowls. This is a perfect class for students who are complete beginners and for students who are seeking more wheel practice and skill development.
The course runs for 6 sessions on either of the following days:
Wednesday mornings, 10am – 12.30pm; or
Saturday mornings, 10am – 12.30pm; or
Thursday evenings, 6pm-8.30pm.
Course Fee Includes:
Clay, tools, firing and glazing. Students are encouraged to reclaim their clay so they can re-use it during classes.
Duration: 2.5 hours / class x 6
Experience: No experience required
Bring: An apron and towel each to class each week.
Wear: Clothes that can get dirty – this class is hands on. Closed shoes are essential
Collection of work: Students will be emailed when their work is ready for collection (all work must be collected within 2 weeks)

This intensive 4 week course is an excellent opportunity for aspiring potters to learn how to use the Wheel, focusing specifically on developing shapes and individual technique. This course will enable understanding of how pieces are made and the development process. Students will learn how to wedge & centre clay, create basic forms such as cylinders and small bowls and how to trim and glaze work. One to one tuition can be provided during class. This is a perfect class for beginner level students or students wanting more time on the wheel with teacher guidance and direction.
The course runs for 4 sessions.
