Sarah Schembri
Sarah Schembri is an Australian Ceramic Artist.
Sarah’s parents migrated from Malta to Australia in the early 1950’s where they worked hard on the family farm in Western Victoria raising their three children. It was here, Sarah developed her strong work ethic while becoming inspired by the natural surroundings of country Victoria.
Sarah originally started her career within the corporate world, soon discovering pottery as an after-hours passion, exploring her creativity. She found that ‘throwing’ pottery on a wheel gave her great satisfaction and relaxation. After some time, Sarah made the decision to shift her professional career from an office life ~ to pursue her passion for pottery and tableware.
Sarah worked and studied Ceramics at Ballarat University, where she developed her bold –
yet incredibly organic style.
More recently, Sarah has expanded the business – opening her new pottery studio in Fitzroy, Melbourne. A place where groups, functions and students from all walks of life can come to experience her beautiful space and be themselves. Most of Sarah’s time is now balanced between creating new bespoke tableware for chefs and restaurants around Australia as well as tutoring and teaching others to “throw” as she once did.
A dream come true for a lover of food, fine dining and functional products and helping others.
Sarah has been truly humbled by her successful career as a full-time artist and now wishes to teach others and provide an enjoyable, relaxed environment to learn and create.
Sarah’s motto; Love, create and inspire.
